Rhine Falls motorhome parking offers you the chance to view the Rhine Falls and then pitch for the night. There are two sides to the River, the north and south bank. We stayed at the south bank. When entering the parking area, take a ticket on entering. Payment is made at a machine before leaving, and then insert your validated ticket into the barrier. Be careful when using sat nav – it is better to follow the local brown signs, shown as “Rhein Falls”.

Worth mentioning, on the opposite site of the river, known as the South Bank, so as though you were heading to Titisee, the parking is FREE, but there is a charge of five Swiss Francs to view the falls. Overnight parking is not possible at this site of the river. Furthermore, the car park has a rather severe slope, so it would not be very comfortable!

The cost of parking on the North Bank is charged on an hourly basis, but a stay of up to 24 hours costs 18 Swiss Francs. It appeared that as long as you were paying, you could stay as long as you liked! Within walking distance, there is a Migros supermarket and other shops. Access to the falls is free of charge.

Rhine Falls motorhome parking – facilities

There are toilets, showers, fresh water, grey water dumping and a chemical disposal point on site.

The longest “pitches” are close to the WC and shower block.

When we initially arrived, around mid day, the car park was absolutely packed to the rafters and there was “no room at the inn”. We parked at the coach park initially, but we were told we could n’t really stay there, so being a Sunday, we made our way to the rail station where there was plenty of space. We returned to the Rhine Falls Motorhome Parking area around 1600 and there was much more space.

Further information about parking and directions available here – the official Rhein Falls website.
