An Alde battery back up device may be of more interest to motorhomers than caravanners due to the stop-start nature of the motor home.

Alde battery back up

Alde battery back up device saves having to reset the clock when the engine is switched on and off

The Alde heating system  is pretty good, with its night settings, digital clock and programmable timer. The down side to this technology relates to having to reset the clock every time the power supply is interrupted.  So for example, arrive on site, set the clock and “job done”. Once the engine is started, and the subsequently switched off, the clock settings on the Alde control panel default to midnight on a Monday! The pre-programmed timer settings remain held in the memory though.

Alde battery back up – easy installation

I found the solution by way of the Alde Battery Backup device. Installation is easy – simply remove the cover from the control panel and push in the battery back up device. I fitted it earlier today and during the course of the onward journey, stopped for fuel and then also stopped at the site reception when checking in. The clock retained its true values. The battery back up can only be used with the touch screen control panel as shown below.
