A bit noisy due to passing trains – at high speed – but great for a transit stop or a day in the old town.
User Review
( votes)The Orvieto Sosta is more than worthy of a mention for those wishing to visit the town of Orvieto. This camper stopĀ is located very close to the A1 motorway. As a result, this is a busy transit stop.
The “aree di camper” offers generous sized parking areas, excellent toilet/shower facilities and a motorhome service point. There are also washing machines available for use. The Orvieto Sosta offers an area for dumping grey water, although the fresh water supply is located about fifty feet away. This prevents any risk of cross contamination. For example, if a fresh water hose fell onto the floor where grey water had been dumped. At the time of our stay, the Orvieto Sosta cost two euro per hour for parking, or eighteen euro for an overnight stay. The latter includes hook up provision. Orvieto Sosta is located close to the funicular for the transit to the historic and more than interesting town.
The “booking in office” sells a few local products such as wine and bread.
On the downside, the aire is located between two sets of train lines. As a result, it can be a little noisy at time. One set of lines carries the stopping trains. At the opposite end of the Orvieto Sosta, we found the high-speed train line. Trains rattle past at high-speed. That said, this did not affect our stay and I am unable to say at what time the first train ran as I slept through it!
