Over the last eight years, we have visited numerous Lake Garda campsites – I say visited, as in some cases we checked in and checked out again without staying. This page will be updated as more sites are visited.
We have stayed at more sites than are on this website, but in fairness feel it is only worth summarising the sites I have seen since blogging began in 2011.
The blue links will take you to our review of the site – these are where we have stayed.
Camping Il Faro – small site, family owned, minutes walk to the Lake front. Not an action packed site, no fancy goings on but a large swimming pool at 25 metres. Very quiet when we stayed – we were the only tourer there, along with the seasonals. We will definitely be staying there again
Camping Baia Verde – we have stayed here numerous times, all singing, all dancing site with swimming pool, entertainment, cafe, bar, shop and a whirl pool on site. On our last visit, we checked in and left without staying. Very cramped, very busy and just not where we wanted to be for a two weeks resting!
Camping Piantelle, Moniga del Garda, lake side location, some very large pitches, lots going on and plenty of space. Definitely one to re-visit.
Camping Butterfly – great for location, near the train station and buses for easy trips to Verona, Venice, Mantova etc but too over crowded with some pitch size issues, appreciating of course that the Kontiki is “over sized”
Camping del Garda – large site with lots going on but plenty of space – pitch where you like. I would imagine this is bedlam though in the very high season.
Camping Capuccini – Peschiera del Garda – smallish site, close to the lake. Perfect! Some pitches have superb lake views!
Camping San Benedetto, Peschiera del Garda. Large site with a mix of statics and tourers, some large pitches suitable for tag axles. Some good offers such as 14 nights for price of 10 in the lower seasons
Camping Riviera at Toscalano – great location, nice sized plots, but only three amps electric!
The list below shows sites we have visited but not stayed at. Tag axles would be OK on some pitches.
Camping Amici di Lazise, Lazise – very well presented, some large pitches, very well kept – the price put us off. Open all year.
Camping Maderno, Maderno – stayed there in 2007, lake front pitches, would stay again but suspect access awkward for a tag axle. Open all year.
Camping Trevisago, Moniga del Garda – not near the Lake, about 1 – 1.5 miles away, but a good sized pool, bar, and very convenient for local supermarkets and bus stops. Have stayed numerous times.
Camping Ideal Piave, Manerba del Garda – large site, but pretty much empty when we called in. We were just having a walk around looking for places to stay in future. Good value, old facilities but no pool.
Camping Garden Tourist, Manerba del Garda – too many trees make access difficult, very good location though!
Camping Belvedere, Manerba del Garda, perfect location, some lake side pitches, some lake view, good value for money, restricted pitching for a tag axle but should be OK in the lower seasons.
Camping Bella Italia, Peschiera – huge site, sloping pitches, awkward access with trees and we just did not like it so left without staying!
Camping del Uva – Peschiera, large sites, reasonable pitches, good value for longer stays, we will visit and stay. Update – tried to stay April 2014 – the site was locked up and looked semi derelict. Their website still shows 2013 prices….
Camping Zocco – Manerba del Garda – pirch size prevented our stay – good location.
Camping San Biagio, Manerba del Garda, great location, some large pitches but very pricey!
Camping Gasparina, close to Peschiera, supermarkets and lake access.
For our requirements, Camping il Faro ticks the boxes, good location, good pool and quiet.
If you have stayed at any of the sites listed, feel free to add a comment via the speak your mind box.
