Poolsbrook Country Park Caravan Club site stands with the area known locally as Pools Brook Country Park. The general location was previously a mining area but in recent years, a visitor centre, café, children’s play area and miles of walking/cycle routes have been created. The caravan site is almost surrounded by trees giving this relatively new site a good, established feel.
After booking in, I made use of the motorhome service point (a lot easier to use than at the Caravan Club’s Broadway site) and then choose a pitch. As this stay was only for one night, then my usual criteria of “flat with electric” applied, so pretty much any pitch would do.
On site facilties at Poolsbrook Country Park Caravan Club Site
- Motohome service point
- Standard or service pitches
- CDP
- Heated amenity block with showers/toilets
- Laundry
- Pot wash
- WiFi (chargeable)
- Access to the site via security barrier
Access to the amenity block is via a key operated door. The amenity block is however worthy of a more in depth comment, in so far as this site is fairly new and so the block is bang up to date with modern tiling and fittings. There is also a “service toilet” that is usable when the main block is closed for cleaning. The laundry and pot wash areas are very generous in size.
Outisde the site are footpaths forming part of the Trans Pennine Trail. Buses depart from nearby Staveley to Chesterfield, famous for The Parish Church of St Mary with it’s unusual crooked spire. Chesterfield is a busy market town too, with a reasonable shopping centre and plenty of eateries.
The Poolsbrook Country Park Caravan Club Site offers mid week discounts and also special children’s rates details here.
