Best Deal Camping Card – free camping app

Back in 2012, I was able to obtain a FREE  Best Deal Camping Card and also the book, known as the “Camping Navigator”. The Camping Navigator and Best Deal Camping Card works in a similar way to the ACSI card, but, there is no charge for this card and book, unlike ACSI where a fee is payable for the book and discount card.  I tried again to obtain the latest version of the card, but despite two attempts, I was emailed stating the card was only for residents of certain countries:

So, taking advice from the email, I downloaded the app, priced at 69 pence. The photo above shows the “digital” membership card.

1) Visit the “app store”

2) Search for “CampingApp English” – note no spaces between the words “camping” and “app”

3) Download it. The price is sixty-nine pence.

You will then have access to the database which is in English. One problem with the paper version of the Camping Navigator was the fact that none of the pages were in English!

The Best Deal Camping Card is a digital version on your ‘phone or pad or what ever gadget you have and this can be used at campsites that are using the Best Deal Camping Card scheme.

I did note however that the membership “card” was dated 2013. I emailed Best Deal to ask about this and their response is here.

I would advise anyone who is unsure about the validity of the digital card to email the organisation – info@campingnavigator.com before downloading the app.

The app is easy to use and the photo above shows a map showing the sites around Lake Garda that are accepting the card.

Best Deal Camping Card – auto “renewal”

On January 2014, I noticed that my digital card had automatically changed to 2014.

Further update – I’m now using the 2016 version on the app!
