Hook up cable storage is as easy or difficult as you make it. In the past I had tried various methods of storing the hook up lead. I’d had little success with a large circular storage reel to just trying to wind the cable neatly and hoping for the best. The latter never seemed to work and usually resulted in a lot of bad language. Furthermore, the cable never seems to unwind easily after manually winding. I think hook up cables are like Christmas tree lights. It does n’t matter how neat you try to be….They always emerge in a tangle!

Hook up cable storage

These are ideal for storing the hook up cable.

A couple of years ago, I discovered these hook up cable storage devices. Unlike the round reels, these slimline types take up a lot less space, are less bulky and I find, generally easier to use.

Hook up cable storage from Amazon

I purchased one of the cable keepers but it was one of those accessories that turned out to be better than expected. As  result, I immediately ordered another hook up cable storage device.  One Stores the 15 metre hook up lead whilst the second holds the 25 metre cable.

These slim line cable storage “things” are available from Amazon, click below

I have lost track of the number of times people have asked me on sites from where I purchased this from.
