The Kontiki’s first MOT is not due until the 1st September 2011. However, I decided to get the MOT done sooner rather than later. This was in part due to difficulty in finding garages that can accommodate a TAG axle motorhome. As the Kontiki is for sale, a new MOT will no doubt save the new owner the hassle and expense of arranging the MOT. I had previously called into GK MOT and Tachograph Centre near Shrewsbury to ask about the MOT and also to have the previously chipped windscreen looked at. On the initial visit, I found the staff to be helpful and so I had no doubt in my mind that GK MOT and Tachograph Centre was the place to go.
The whole process was straight forward enough. I arrived at the test centre, handed over the keys and took a seat in the waiting area. Following the recent windscreen replacement, I was not aware of any problems with the ‘van. About one hour later, the staff at GK MOT and Tachograph Centre advised me all was well and the new MOT certificate was issued.
