The Colmar motorhome aire is around a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of Colmar, one of the largest towns in the Alsace. Access to Colmar is easy when coming from the Metz-Nancy direction or the A35. Colmar is along the wine routes of the Alsace and in winter, plays host to the Christmas markets, food market and attractions such as the ferris wheel.
Interestingly, Google searches suggest two aires at the same location. Clearly there are motorhomes parked at both but we could not gain access to one of them.
Facilities at the Colmar motorhome aire
- Pitches of various sizes – 9-10 metres maximum, but access could be tricky
- All hardstand
- Electric hook up available – €2.50 for four hours – seems to be 16 amps
- Fresh water – €1
- CDP and grey water
- Laundry
- Secure entry and exit by barrier and token
- 14 euro per night
If electricity and services are taken, this is not the cheapest of aires. However it is in a good location, quiet at night and easy access to other destinations. Furher information can be found here on the aire’s website. As an alternative, if heading towards Switzerland from Metz-Nancy, then the aire at Chavannes sur L’Etang aire (night stop) may serve you well.
