( votes)Dinkelsbuhl stellplatz made for a pleasant afternoon stop, despite the wet weather. There are two motorhome stellplatz available in the town, although one is clearly better than the other! The first one we visited was referred to locally as a “park and camp” (P&C).
Dinkelsbuhl stellplatz “number one” (our name for it, but known as the P&C) is located about 500 metres from the campsite in the town. Entrance and exit from the stellplatz is via the campsite reception. This seems a bit of a farce, walking 500 metres to sort out parking! With that in mind, “number one” was abandoned and we left in search of the other stellplatz. “Number one” as we called it is near “Kobeltsmühle” and is a good mile or so from the town centre.
Just a short drive away, and in a better place to access the town, you will find the second Dinkelsbuhl stellplatz. Opposite the fire station, just off Monchstrother Strasse, this new looking stellplatz is a big improvement on the previous offering.
To reach this parking area, follow the signs to “parking 2a” – see photo!
Facilities at the Dinkelsbuhl stellplatz
- Hook up available – approximately 70 euro cents per kilowatt hour.
- Fresh water
- Grey water
- Cassette emptying
- Hard stand
- Easy access service point
- Close to the town centre
- Space for larger motorhomes
- Very neat and well-kept
Electricity and water are available on a pay as you use system. Remember to take some one Euro coins. There did not appear to be a tariff for ether parking or night stopping. The Dinkelsbuhl stellplatz located at parking 2a is therefore the better choice of the two stellplatz in the town. There are more details of the stellplatz at the town’s tourism website. Typical of the towns and stellplatz we have visited, the signage is clear and easy to follow. You do not need technology!
