An excellent value for money stellplatz offering unmetered electricity, southern end of the Romantic Road

( votes)Fussen stellplatz appeared in many an internet search. Upon arrival in the town and after following the “motorhome parking” signs, we discovered three separate motorhome parking spots. One was closed, so that was easily ruled out of the mix. A walk around the first one revealed a sign that directed guests to the sports centre across the road. The receptionist on duty at the sports centre provides check in and tariffs etc. This was 13.00 euro per night, plus 2.50 euro for electric, so 15.50 in total.
In contrast, the other stellplatz in Fussen was the same price, plus 50 cents for a fresh water full up and electricity at 70 cents per kilowatt hour. Factoring in the possible electricity consumption, and noting how the weather appeared to be closing in, we choose to stay at Fussen Mobil Stellplatz. Fussen Mobil is actually a caravan/motorhome dealer/service agent of some sorts, and also offers a mobile fitting/rescue service if required.

Guests staying at the Fussen Mobil Stellplatz receive a discount at the “Sports Studio” fitness centre across the road. There is also a coffee bar at the sports centre and free WiFi.
Within a few minutes walk are various shops and supermarkets, including the German favourites of Aldi and Lidl, the latter having an in store bakery.
Overnight, the snow came down quite hard, but with true German efficiency, the stellplatz was cleared of snow, noting the same applied to local roads and pavements!
The Fussen Mobil stellplatz offers great value for money, considering the unmetered electricity. The parking area is opposite the Sports Studio fitness centre – web details and address here.
