San Gimignano motorhome parking

No visit to Tuscany is complete without a spot of sightseeing in San Gimignano. San Gimignano motorhome parking is available in various locations.

Camping Boschetto di Piemma is a commercial campsite offering the usual facilities. The site is located about one and a half miles from the centre of San Gimignano. However, there is a shuttle bus from the site entrance to the town. The cost of one night at Camping Boschetto di Piemma based on two adults and a motorhome is thirty euro per night. We did not stay at the campsite but did a “reccy”. The address is Loc. Santa Lucia 38c 53037 San Gimignano – Siena. The site is very well sign posted.

Follow signs to St Lucia parking.

San Gimignano motorhome parking is also available next door to the campsite in a car park. Entrance is via an electronic barrier, with payment made at a ticket machine prior to departure. The same shuttle bus will run you into town. The price to park – or indeed stay – is one euro per hour. The price for 24 hours is fifteen euro. There are no facilities what so ever. This is quite literally a parking area and nothing more. The parking area is sign posted as “St Lucia P” and is easy to find.

Plenty of space, even for a big ‘un!

San Gimignano motorhome parking – our choice – but….

Our choice for San Gimignano motorhome parking is adjacent to a small foot ball pitch. Maybe 500 metres from the town centre, albeit uphill. However there are signs that state the maximum motorhome length is six metres. With overhand at the back onto the grass verge, seven metres would be OK maybe. There is no way the Kon-tiki will fit here. This is our choice, but, with a size restriction. The cost is zero!

The address for this parking area is Via P Gobetti, San Gimignano. For another Tuscan camperstop, try Chianciano Terme.
