Just a few miles to the north of York, the Beechwood Grange Caravan Club site is set amongst mature trees and hedging, giving this site a country feel, despite it’s near city location. From York outer ringroad, access to the site is via a dead-end, private road. The road is of course wide enough for motorhomes and caravans.

A pitch long – and wide enough – for a tag axle!

Particularly noteworthy of a mention – the larger than average size pitches!

Space for the kids to play.

The children’s play area is well equipped. Dog owners too will be happy – a large fenced area for the four legged ones to play!

Access to York from Beechwood Grange

Visiting York is easy. The “Monks Cross” park and ride site is about a fifteen minute walk from Beechwood Grange, so an easy option. You can of course park your car there and there are dedicated spaces for motorhomes. The park and ride buses operate seven days per week.

Monks Cross is also home to a shopping village with brands such as Arcadia, M&S plus ASDA and Sainsburys.

If there is a downside to this site, then it is traffic noise. Maybe it is more noticeable in the winter when the trees have lost their leave, but the hum of the nearby A64 dual carriageway is present. That said, it did not affect our stay in any way.

In addition to Beechwood Grange, the Caravan Club has another site in York. “Rowntree Park” is almost in the city centre. Be aware though that Rowntree Park can, and does flood! Details of both sites, along with pricing are available on the Caravan Club website by clicking here.
