Broadlands Farm Caravan Site is located a couple of miles south of Wakefield, just a few minutes from junction 39 of the M1 motorway. I usually stay on larger commercial type sites, but stumbled across Broadlands Farm Caravan Site quite by chance, and a good “find” it proved to be. The site offers all the mod cons yet at competitive prices.

The Kon-tiki is seen from above at Broadlands Farm Caravan Site

Pitches at Broadlands Farm Caravan Site are of a generous size and easily accommodated the near nine metre Kontiki. There is plenty of space for an awning or for caravanners, space also for the tow car. Most pitches are pretty level and if chocks/levelling ramps are required, then this is only to cover a very slight slope – nothing to worry about at all.

Facilities at Broadlands Farm Caravan Site

  • All hard stand pitches
  • 16 amps electric hook up
  • Washing machines and tumbles dryers – token operated
  • Separate ladies and gents showers/toilets
  • Chemical disposal point

The shower and toilet  facilities are kept immaculately clean. Over the years, I have stayed on many campsites, both UK and overseas, but Broadlands Farm Caravan Site is one of only two that I have visited that has…..wait for it…..music in the loo! It’s a lovely touch that reminded me so much of Camping Tiber in Rome! There is also a chemical disposal point  on site and fresh water taps within easy reach. Washing machines and tumble dryers are also available for campers’ use.

For those exploring further afield, the bus stops adjacent to the site entrance offer services to Leeds, Wakefield & Barnsley, whilst within a few minutes walk, you will find buses to Holmfirth, home of Compo and Cleggy in “Last of the Summer Wine”. Meadowhall shopping centre is about 25 minutes away. For the energetic, Pugneys Country Park is close by and offers various facilities for the sporting types. An ASDA supermarket is within easy reach – maybe a ten to fifteen minute stroll or a very short drive.

The site was recently featured on TV, including yours truly! Click here to watch the video!

All in all Broadlands Farm Caravan Site offers excellent value for money. The site is in a convenient location for exploring West Yorkshire.

The site is open for ten months of the year – more info and prices here
