( votes)Camping Bon Repos is located right on the coast at Santa Susanna. Many people think that Santa Susanna is on the Costa Brava, but it is in fact on the Costa Maresme. This is our second visit to the site. We stayed here in 2009 for a two-week stay.
A short walk from the entrance to Camping Bon Repos is the local train station offering rail services to Barcelona and Blanes, and all points in between. The journey to Barcelona takes about 60 minutes. There are various shops and restaurants in Santa Susanna. A Carrefour hypermarket is about a ten minutes walk away. The adjacent train station offers a frequent service between Blanes and Barcelona. The journey to Barcelona takes just over one hour.
When approaching Camping Bon Repos, leave the main road at the sign post for the Carrefour supermarket. Keep a large car parking area on your right. You then go through a “subway” to reach the site. Be careful if using satellite navigation – use local signs – it’s easier.
A large number of pitches are right on the sea front and these offer lovely views over the Med. These do however “sell” at a higher price, but well worth the money.
On site facilities at Camping Bon Repos
- Two amenity blocks – one recently refitted
- Laundry
- Free WiFi
- Some sea front pitches
- Generous sized swimming pool
- Bar/restaurant
- Entertainment at certain times of the year
- Shop/supermarket
- Motorhome service point
- “Firm” pitches with electric hook up
Being a coastal site, you are often treated to lovely sunsets.
Camping Bon Repos also makes for a good en route stopover, in addition to a base for a long stay. The site is open all rear round and discounts are available on longer stays – see website
This does sound a lovely site to stop for a longer time and see Barcelona.
Do the trains take dogs??
Are you buying local food to cook or are you eating out more now ?
Not sure re the trains and dogs.
We are still eating our own Tesco supplies which given it is 90 cents for one tin of Coke and 1.65 euro for one litre of milk, it is a good job the Kon-tiki looks like a mobile shop!
Russell, am looking forward to our 12 days here at this site in 5 week time if you have any info on Barcelona that we can use it would be much appreciated, Best Regards Tony
Good morning. The train from Santa Susanna to Barcelona operates at 30 minute intervals and we paid 7.30 euro per person return. That ticket is not valid on the underground in Barcelona. There are open top tour buses in the city and in all honesty I wish we had used one instead of walking all those miles. Barcelona is a sprawling city and seems a lot more spread out than Rome, Paris etc so it might be worth getting one of these buses. Google for discounts and best prices.
