( votes)Team Voyager is in residence at Camping Boschetto di Piemma, San Gimignano. This is the only campsite close to San Gimignano but there is a motorhome camperstop available around 200 metres from the site. Click here for our review of the camperstop. Alternatively, stay at the camperstop at Poggibonsi and take a bus to San Gimignano.
The local bus runs from the camperstop area, passing by Camping Boschetto di Piemma and then into the “skyscraper city” of San Gimignano. The journey takes around ten minutes. Bus tickets cost 1.20 euro one way and are available to purchase from reception. However it is possible to walk into the centre. Our evening stroll AFTER a few too many red wines with our meal in town took around 25 minutes!
On site facilities at Camping Boschetto di Piemma
There is pretty much everything you need for an enjoyable stay.
- All pitches with six amps electric hook up
- Plentifil showers and washrooms
- Motorhome service point – watch out for “grounding” as there is a ramp to access the area
- Swimming pool (seasonal)
- Bar/restaurant
- Shop/mini market
- FREE WiFi
Many of the pitches are under the cover of trees and some pitches are suitable only for a micro camper or tent. We are staying on a fairly narrow pitch but one that is around ten metres long. Remember the new Kon-tiki is a tad over nine metres! Access to the motorhome service point is easy enough. However, there is a risk of grounding due to a slope at the front of the camper service area.
