User Review
( votes)Camping Riviera sits alongside Lake Garda at Toscalano Maderno, a quiet resort on the western shores of the Lake. An all year round car and passenger ferry provides a useful link to Torri del Benaco on the opposite side of ‘Garda. Toscalano offers bars, restaurants and shops, with a couple of supermarkets nearby. There is an (unreliable) bus service to Riva del Garda.
We did not have a reservation at Camping Riviera but were given a choice of pitches. The lake side pitches are not available to ACSI card holders, but as it was so quiet, we were told it was OK. However, the lake side pitches are under the cover – and shade – of trees, so you may prefer to pitch in a more open area. We chose a pitch backing on to a small river, and adjacent to the boat launch.
On site facilities include at Camping Riviera include:
- All grass pitches with electric hook up – note only three amps!
- Toilet/shower blocks
- Laundry
- CDP
- Pot wash area
- Free wifi
- Boat launch
- Swimming pool
- Bar/pizzeria (seasonal)
As mentioned, the electrical hook up is only three amps, so if you have a travel kettle of 500 watts or less – take it with you! I like my “Tassimo” coffee but the three amps supply could not power this gadget. Undeterred, I took the Tassimo machine into the laundry and made use of a more powerful socket! It later struck me to take the toaster, whilst another camper took their hairdryer and mirror!
The receptionists were very friendly and welcoming, even after we had tripped out ALL the three amp hook up posts!
The site accepts ACSI cards at certain times of the year, and full pricing and opening dates are available on the Camping Riviera website.
