James’s Caravan Park is located just off the A483 to the south of Wrexham. The site is open all year round although it is predominantly formed with grass pitches, with a few hard stands. I arrived without a booking, in the dark and pouring rain, so opted for a car parking area as this was hard stand. Despite being a rather wet January though, the grass did feel pretty firm. The site was previously a working farm. Some pitches are slightly sloping and so levelling ramps/chocks will be required. My stay at James’s Caravan Park formed the base for my trip to Dublin – see here.
On site facilities at James’s Caravan park include:
- Amenity block with toilets and showers
- Pot wash area
- Chemical disposal
- Fridge for campers to use
- Gas sales
- Well stocked information area with leaflets and publicity materials.
- A very friendly welcome
Nearby Ruabon, just a few minutes walk away offers a rail station with services to Chester and Shrewsbury, a small grocery store and a couple of pubs. On the down side, there is some road noise but this was not too offensive.
