( votes)Willow House Caravan Park is just a few miles to the north of York city centre. The site has access from the city ring road. Willow House is unusual in so far as there is also a five unit CL close to the main touring park. As a result, campers have a choice of staying on a typical “five van site” or a larger commercial caravan park. I think it is far to say that Julia and Geoff are the mostly friendly wardens I have ever met on a site.
Within a couple of miles of Willow House Caravan Park, you will find Tesco, a retail park with various stores and also the Rawcliffe Park and Ride site. There is also a bus stop outside the main entrance. There is a farm shop on site selling a wide range of produce and in addition has a restaurant – delicious full English! We were offered a ten per cent discount voucher for use in the shop, due to being guests on the touring park.
On site facilities at Willow House Caravan Park
- Mostly hard stand pitches
- A few grass/tent pitches
- Electric hook up
- Pot wash
- Heated shower block x 2
- Laundry
- “Glamping pods” for hire
All pitches are hard stand (gravel) and of a generous length, at a guess about 40 feet long. Some pitches however are wider than others and you may wish to bear this in mind when choosing a pitch. There is n’t a dedicated motorhome service point though, but there are plenty of fresh water taps on site. There is one tap located between every four pitches. Dustbins are dotted around the site.
There is also a dog walk on site which will take you past Willow House Caravan Park’s own “lake”. It is worth noting that Willow House Caravan Park is open all but children are not allowed on site. Pricing and other information is available here
